View is southeast from the northwest corner of Eleventh and Hudson Streets. In the background is Elysian Park. The float being pulled by an Army jeep has a depiction of the Currier and Ives lithograph of a baseball game played at Elysian Fields. Text on the float: Baseball Centennial, 1846-1946, Elysian Fields, Hoboken, N.J., Present Site of General Foods Plant. Note the reviewing stand at the right edge with loudspeakers mounted on the street pole. At the left are cameramen on the top of a truck; a railroad freight car is behind them with spectators on the roof. Note also the tracks in the street for the Hoboken Manufacturers Railroad. The Maxwell House Coffee plant is to the left where the freight car is located. Just out of the view at the right is the site where a commemorative plaque donated by General Foods had been erected on the Eleventh Street divider at Hudson. It was dedicated on this day, thus the reason for the official reviewing stand with bunting at that corner.
