Hostess Cup Cakes ad: Hostess Cream Filled Cup Cakes. Full-page color magazine advertisement by Continental Baking Co., Inc. as published in Life, June 11, 1956, page [136]. Clipped leaf, 9-3/4" wide x 14" high. See notes for text. Hoboken at that time had a Wonder Bread bakery (a Continental Baking brand) and another site devoted to production of their dessert products where they made them for the region. Those products included Hostess Twinkies and Hostess Sno-Balls (shown in pink and white); packaging is seen along with a cross-section of each showing the filling. They were priced the same as the Cup Cakes, ten cents for a package of two. The ad is a typical example of advertising by a national corporation for a product made locally.
