Several hold copies of an issue of the Jersey Observer newspaper with headline: Germans Near Vornezh. (Since the first of these summer camps started on June 29, this headline is appropriate as the Germans approached this city in late June and a defensive battle started on June 28, 1942 and thus helps to date this as probably the beginning of first camp on June 29, 1942.)
