War Ration Book No. 3. belonging to Katharine Marinovich, Hoboken, no date, ca. 1943-1944. Booklet with printed covers, 4-1/4" high x 5-3/4" wide; contents is printed sheets of coupons on security paper numbered 1 to 48 ("Ration Stamp No. x" - they were called stamps, but they are ungummed ) with perforated edges.Interior appears to have consisted of 6 security paper leaves printed one side and perforated for 48 numbered ration coupons per leaf. Two sheets are completely gone. Three coupons from the last leaf are also not present. The coupons or stamps as they were often called do not carry any denomination or other indication of value. The insides of the cover are blank.
The form on the cover is filled out in blue ink and signed by Marinovich who was an 8-year old Hoboken resident living with her family at 201Fourteenth St. Her occupation was listed as "Schoolgirl." Book no. 666977 G and printed as Book No. 3, but a holographic script entry at lower right corner of the front cover says "Book 4."
