Composition book belonging to Louis LaRusso, subject: writing, name: Russell, (Hoboken?), no date, circa 1956-1962. Starlike brand wire-o notebook, green covers, lined pages, 7" wide x 8-1/2" high.
What school is not stated or known, but apparently it was started for a writing class taught by someone named Russell. The entire book was used by him for titled poems, many multi-pages, written in pencil and each signed 'LLR' at the end. Except for the first poem, there are no cross-outs. Also, no erasures found in volume.
Louis LaRusso II (1936-2003) published a book of poetry in 1962. The handwriting changes somewhat through the volume and suggests that he wrote these poems over several years. Four pages from the rear is a poem titled "I'd Settle for Even" which has text references to 1961, 1962 and 1963.
Except for military service and some years in Los Angeles, he lived in Hoboken for his entire life.
