Inkstamp on back as described below. Passenger W.V. Faxon, Jr. Presumably a regular purchaser. Inkstamp on reverse for Hoboken sale. Note that the ticket did not include passage on the Lackawanna Ferry service nor mention it. If the ticket was to New York, it would have typically had passage from Hoboken to New York stated on it. Lackawanna Railroad was still the Delaware, Lackawanna & Western R.R. The formal nature of the ticket with its pre-made inkstamp for the passenger's name suggests that it was from a purchase-by-mail plan (called Mail-Tik in 1961) for regular monthly commutation passes (see cover of archives 2011.005.0125.)
