READY FOR THE RIVER
Sandhogs pull a boat into position in case seepage from a leaking bulkhead spreads back into this section of the land tunnel leading to the Lincoln Tunnel's third tube under the Hudson River in New York., Jan. 25. A 100-foot section of the excavation, which eventually will be joined to the new tube on the New York side was flooded Jan. 25, by the leak. The sandhogs' work will be delayed until water can be pumped from the section of the New York [and] New Jersey vehicular tunnel.
