Ticket envelope: Lackawanna Railroad, issued for travel leaving New York, Thursday, Nov. 1, [1945]. Printed paper, 3-5/8" high x 6-1/2" wide; printed both sides including flap which is ungummed.
For long-distance train travel (tickets, luggage tags, stubs, etc.), it could have been issued at any number of Delaware, Lackawanna & Western Railroad offices or ticket windows including Hoboken which was the eastern terminus for the rail portion of travel (coming or going to New York required use of the railroad's ferry.)
The front has a photo labeled Delaware Water Gap, PA. - a vista seen by passengers - tracks visible in the image. The reverse has forms printed on the back (Memorandum) and on the flap (Notice to Passengers.) The Memorandum has ink record of two Pullman berths at $2.70 each and the train leaves N.Y. 9:00 A.M. Thu Nov 1 (which places this in 1945 plus a form code below of '11-45' indicating the envelope was printed about that time.)
