In this series of photos, 2011.048.0042 to 2011.048.0059, photo 2011.048.0045 has a 1927 New Jersey automobile license plate which can be read and photo 2011.048.0058 has a poster for an event dated as Saturday, September 24th which corresponds to a Saturday in 1927.
Street level streetcar or trolley tracks on Willow Ave. are Public Service Coordinated Transport.
The railroad crossing signs are for tracks of the New York Central Railroad, Erie Railroad and the primary right-of-way holder, New Jersey Junction Railroad.
A left detail image shows the Hoboken Manufacturers Terminal building in the background with "Lipton" of the Lipton Tea rooftop sign partially visible.
A white line starting at a stanchion on the southeast corner of 17th and Willow runs across Willow to a point north of 17th St. Purpose of the line is not indicated. A number of people are visible including several men in suits and hats (one stands in the center of the street) who apparently are there as part of some official activities. A police officer is also seen.
This photo is from an accession group that consists of photographs from Hoboken Police Department records. Discarded in the 1990s, the original documentary purpose of this photo is not stated or apparent.
