This building was a location used by the motion picture "On the Waterfront" when it filmed in Hoboken in 1952-1953 as the office of the union boss, Johnny Friendly, played by actor Lee J. Cobb.
The large cargo ship in the background has not been identified and is berthed at the pier shed of Pier 5, once the Holland America Line Fifth Street Pier.
