Bulletin: pamphlet, 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" high, 16 pp. Enclosure: printed ad of Henry Becker & Son, Inc., Dairy Farms of Roseland, N.J. re running of the Centerville and Southwestern Railroad with map on reverse. Notice on cover, page [1]: Note: Last Show on These Premises (New location to be announced.) This group of model railroaders had been using space in the upper level ferry concourse at the terminal since 1948 as a guest of the Lackawanna Railroad. It was the largest model railroad in the world. See pages 6-7 et al for some history and description of the layouts. The main model was called the Union Connecting Railroad or UCRR; a second one was the Union, Hoboken & Overland Railroad. (Pages not imaged were advertisements only.) Notes: Text as found in 2012 at the History section of the New York Society of Model Engineers (NYSME) website: http://modelengineers.org/history.htm The Lackawanna Railroad discontinued some of their ferry service after World War II, and we were able to secure the upper ferry concourse at the Hoboken Terminal. At this site we built the largest model railroad in the world at that time. In 1958, the Society was evicted again, this time by the United States Postal Service. The concourse was going to serve as a mail sorting area. But after the railroads were dismantled, the USPS decided to let the airlines handle first class mail. The concourse was never occupied and we were invited to move back. By that time, however, we had purchased our own building and moved to our current location in Carlstadt, NJ.
