B+W photo east on Fourteenth St. to Park Ave. & beyond, Hoboken, n.d., ca. 1965-1969.
Photograph
Black-and-white photo looking Thirteenth Street & Willow Avenue, Hoboken, no date, circa 1965-1969.
3-1/4" x 4-3/4" wide print. Photograph taken by donor Jack O'Brien (but not so marked.) Reverse has modern ink notations by O'Brien as noted below.
Photo apparently taken from a slightly elevated position on the Fourteenth Street Viaduct looking southeast.
The general view shows a gasoline service station and parking lot in the foreground (this site was a Gulf service station up to ca. 2005 when it was demolished; in the photo here, brand of gas cannot be seen but the large letter on the gas station building suggests a "G" in "Gulf"; construction for apartment building underway in 2013.)
Detail 1, left: view of the 13th Street intersection on east side of Willow Ave. An Esso station is seen and on the opposite corner at 1229 Willow is a church building, the fomer Norwegian Lutheran Church, which at that time was American Legion Post 107.
Detail 2, right: the other gas station (Gulf?) and an A&P Supermarket with parking lot.
O'Brien notes on the back: 13th + Willow - Now Rite Aid [cataloger's note: this pharmacy / store is A&P store building] Parking Lot
Old A/L 107 [American Legion Post 107] on left across from gas station

This photo is in a group of 23 in this accession which are the same size prints and apparently taken during the same period; none are dated, but automobile models and other elements seen in some images suggest the date range.
