Photograph
Black-and-white photo of demolition underway on buildings possibly for Church Towers residential development, Hoboken, no date, circa 1965-1969.
3-1/4" x 4-3/4" wide print. Photograph taken by donor Jack O'Brien (but not so marked.) Reverse has modern ink notations by O'Brien as noted below.
While photographer Barrett mentions tenements, it is possible that the building at center was a factory building that was one of several former American Lead Pencil (Venus Pencil) Co. buildings in the area: note the large hallway dimension seen in a detail image.
Speculatively, it is possible the view is southwest from Clinton St. towards Grand St. The building that is demolished would have been 506 to 512 Clinton St.
O'Brien notes on the back: ? Demolition of Old Tenement Houses.

This photo is in a group of 23 in this accession which are the same size prints and apparently taken during the same period; none are dated, but automobile models and other elements seen in some images suggest the date range.
