Beloved father of Mitchell Salem Fisher, Joseph N. Fisher, Clara Fisher Pollak, Ethel Fisher Korn. Devoted brother of Asher C. Fisher and Morris C. Fisher. Cherished grandfather of Ann, Henry, Lewis and Edward Pollak, Franklin, Joanne and Wesley Fisher, Nancy and Elliott Fisher and Lewis Korn. Temple Emanu El of Yonkers, N. Y., mourns the passing of its revered member Sol Fisher. Leon H. Hershaft, President. [end death notice] [obituary] Sol Fisher, 82, Candy Business Founder, Dies Sol Fisher of 322 Park Hill Ave- nue, one of the founders of S. Fisher and Company, candy manu- facturers and one of the largest suppliers of F. W. Woolworth, died Saturday at Yonkers Profes- sional Hospital. He was eighty- two years old. Mr. Fisher organized the busi- ness with his brothers near the! turn of the century. They 0per- ated it in Hoboken, N. J. for 35 years, until their retirement in 1937. Through the years Mr. Fisher's mechanical and inventive abilities were used to develop the plant, which employed more than 200 persons. Born In Lithuania He was born in Walkewiski, Lithuania, a son of the late Fischel and Leah Cohen Fisher, and came to America at the age of thirteen. He lived in Topeka, Kansas, for some years before joining his ! brothers in the East. After his retirement Mr. Fisher lived in New York City for a time before moving to Yonkers to live with his daughter and son-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. Sidney Pollak. He was one of the founders of and a contributor to the Hebrew Home for Orphans and Aged in North Hudson, N. J., and belonged to Jordan Lodge, B'nai B'rith, and the Golden Rule Lodge of Masons. Surviving, besides his daughter, are two sons. Dr. Mitchell Salem Fisher of New York City, and Nathan J. Fisher of Los Angeles, Calif.; one other daughter, Mrs. Ethel Fisher Korn of North Ber- gen, N. J.; ten grandchildren; and two brothers, Asher C. Fisher of New York and Morris C.
