Photograph
Digital color photographs, three, of old advertising posters uncovered at PATH station, Hoboken, September 17, 2013. Photographs taken by Eduardo Gonzalez. All images low resolution (phone camera) by available light.
1: three wall ad frames for one sheets; right frame has fragmentary remains of a very old poster (S. Klein's?) which may be from the 1950s or earlier; this ad could be from the era when it was still the Hudson & Manhattan Railroad (it was renamed PATH - Port Authority Trans-Hudson - in 1962.)
This wide view reveals the original tiled walls and inset ad frames from when it was the H.& M. R.R. or "The Tubes" as commonly called.
2: ad for Andy Boy's (Boy) broccoli, circa 1960s - 1970s.
3: ad for White Rock soda beverages probably from the 1960s or 1970s. See photo catalog 2013.061.0001 for a closer view of the White Rock ad taken by another Hoboken resident.
Old advertisements are sometimes seen when newer ads or the overlying frames are removed or changed. These ads were on the first landing (the mezzanine concourse above the track level) at the Hoboken PATH station.
