ANCIENT DRESSING
HOBOKEN, N.J.: Lines of strong chains hoist large drums of "sunlit gold" or better known to the kitchens of the world as olive oil. Out of the ancient groves of many nations in the old world into the homes of americans flows the gold liquid in drums or through the stainless steel pipes of the sanitary, highly mechanized, modern holds of cargo ships. These drums being lowered from the American Export Line's ship S.S. Exporter at Hoboken, N.J., will be carried to different parts of the U.S. as the ancient dressing for salads and cooking prevails in popularity. Spain has been the chief olive oil producing area since Julius Ceasar's day. With Italy and Greece it supplies 95 percent of the olive oil used in the U.S.
