Sepia-tone photo of woman & girl posed in studio with interior backdrop, Hoboken, n.d., ca. 1910-1930.
Photograph
Sepia-tone photo of a woman and girl posed in studio with an interior backdrop, Hoboken, no date, probably 1910-1930.
Real photo postcard; 3-7/16" wide x 5-7/16" high; AZO stamp block (two triangles up, two down). Photographer: Erna (or Urna) Commercial Photo Studio, 306 Washington St., Hoboken, N.J. (partial inkstamp); holographic text on reverse (see below). Unused and unposted.
The two people are not identified. The girl in white dress has a flower head dress and holds a floral bouquet. The woman is probably her mother.
A typical photograph taken to commemorate a ceremony which in this case was probably the young lady's first communion.

The photographer was a Charles Erna who was known to have been at 306 Washington Street. The inkstamp definitely has a "U" to start the name but no other letters present, suggesting the use of "Urna" rather than "Erna" in the name.
Ink note (by Hans?) notes the possible name and that it was in a 1918 City Directory. Not found in 1926 Polk Directory.
Dating is suggested by dates of use for this particular AZO stamp block, but that is not definitive. From fashion styles, date would probably be circa 1920.
