Photograph
Sepia-tone photos, two, of a young boy seated in chair; three children; posed in studio with an interior backdrop, Hoboken, no date, circa 1910-1930.
Real photo postcards - 1: 3-3/8" wide x 5-3/8" high; 2: 3-7/16" wide x 5-7/16" high; AZO stamp block (two triangles up, two down). Photographer: Erna (or Urna) Commercial Photo Studio, 306 Washington St., Hoboken, N.J. (partial inkstamp). Unused and unposted.
None of the subjects are identified.
Photo postcard 1: circa 2 year old boy in small bentwood chair.
Photo postcard 2: two boys and a girl (standing on the bentwood chair); all holding hands; boys in suits.
The photographer was a Charles Erna who was known to have been at 306 Washington Street. The inkstamp definitely has a "U" to start the name but no other letters present, suggesting the use of "Urna" rather than "Erna" in the name.
Dating is suggested by dates of use for this particular AZO stamp block, but that is not definitive. Clothing fashions suggest earlier part of date range.
