Engraved sheet 17-1/2" high x 23-1/2" wide with darkened area ca. 14" x 18" where engraved area was shown in a matte; edges have slight irregular trim. Plate mark: 13" high x 18" wide.
Allegorical engraving at top center, designed by J. Oertel, with King Neptune or Posiden rising from the water at the left. He is handing a key to a goddess(?) who will pass it to a fireman approaching her from the right. In the right background is a firefighting scene with firemen raising a ladder and others holding a hose. Ship masts are in the left background.
