Dimmers was operating in Hoboken along with his brother, Rudolf (or Rudolph), at 406 Washington St. from the mid-to late 1880s (and which became 1018 Washington in 1892). Both addresses have been seen (using name of Dimmers or Dimmers Photo Studio) with text "Formerly in New York." Back of this mount has imprint: Theo. G. Dimmers [facsimile signature] Photographer. 388 Bowery Near Cooper Institute. New York. ---- Date of establishment of New York studio is not apparent, but he is listed in 1872 Trow's Directory.
