Photograph
Black-and-white photo of 4 girls posing on Willow Terrace North, Hoboken, no date, ca. 1940-1945. 3" wide x 4" high print. Reverse has contemporary holographic ink identification of the girls, but see below for 2011 corrections.
The exact address on Willow Terrace is not known. The view is looking east with buildings on Willow Avenue in the background. A small flag on stick is above the girls' heads. Note the bunting between windows on the upper floor of the building on Willow Avenue and a streamer that runs across the street.
The girls are identified on reverse as: Dorothy Griffin, O'Malley Twins, Virginia Morley
Which girl is Griffin or Morley is not given. Such identifications are typically listed left to right. The two O'Malley girls' (who appear to be twins, but are not - see below) mother may be Mamie O'Malley who is seen in photo catalog 2001.119.0002 along with Margie Morley who may be Virginia's sister.
In 2011, Mrs. Joan Cunning of Hoboken noted: the two O'Malley girls were not twins, as stated in the description on the reverse. Their names were Mary Grace and Geraldine. She could not say which one was which. They lived in Willow Terrace North.
