Bridge and Lipton's Tea, Universally Popular. Issued by Thomas J. Lipton, Inc., Hoboken, N.J. et al. No date, circa 1925-1930.
Lipton was based in Hoboken during this era. An advertising premium or novelty.
Auction and Contract Bridge score pad in printed paper portfolio, 4" wide x 6-1/4" high. Interior has an eight-page pamphlet tipped-in at the left with: scoring point rules; suggestions for game strategy for Not-Trump Contract and Trump Contract; promotion of Lipton Tea including how to brew and recipes for several drinks, mostly iced ones. Hoboken is listed as the primary location for the company on page [7].
A twenty page (of which 16 are present) scoring pad is to the right and slips into a slot of the french-fold portfolio. All pages are printed both sides. The last leaf was instructions on re-ordering refill pads from Lipton. This leaf is only partial with about half missing.
The clothing fashions worn by the woman depicted on the cover and the larger group shown on page [2] of the booklet strongly suggest the mid to late 1920s.
