Color copy print: River Terrace, westside of River Street from Third Street towards Fourth Street, Hoboken, N.J., July 1,1886.
View is northwest of the intersection of Third and River Streets of the buildings on the west side of River St. A gateway to the piers of the Bremen Line or North German Lloyd Line is at the lower edge.
A color copy print from March 1981 that is a hand-tinted print apparently derived from a photographic print in the Hoboken Historical Photographs Collection of the Hoboken Public Library (see link and citation below for that black-and-white image; reference image on file with this record.)
The color print, 5" x 7" wide, was a mirror printed image. Corrected view is shown. When and by whom the color was added is not stated or known, but it may have possibly been done by Jim Hans of Hoboken in the 1970s up to 1981 (reverse notation appears to be in his hand.) The quality of this print is inferior in sharpness to the original as seen in the reference image.
Reverse has modern ink notation: River Terrace (River St. between 3rd & 4th Sts. (Westside) Hoboken, N.J. About 1905.
Kodak photo processor's inkstamp dated Mar 81.
