In her memoir (archives 2014.055.0001), Mabel Bolles Sheehan (August 6, 1898-1976) recalled on page [1]: "Also there was the picture of me taken by Vetter [Studio] and I can remember how those patent leather shoes hurt me so, and how I had a very bad blister on my toe from them.
