Manufacturing Co., Factory and Home Office: Hoboken, N.J. Embossed printed cardstock cover, 7-1/2" x 10-3/8" high; brass prongs; 28 pages (printed two sides), illustrated, retail prices; printed slip with wholesale terms (wholesale) bound in. Cover has a previous owner's note of date: 11/1/28. PDF on file. The elaborate cover design is curiously in an Art Nouveau style which is about twenty years out-of-date and does not reflect the furniture styles being offered. Discusses on page [3], Foreword, that this is the Golden Jubilee of the company founded in 1878. See text in notes. Ferguson Brothers Manufacturing Company (founded 1878 in New York City) was located in Hoboken from 1900 until the business closed in 1945. Notes: Archives 2013.015.0002 ==== FOREWORD IN presenting this Catalogue, we take advantage of the opportunity to call your attention to the fact that this year 1928 marks our Golden Jubilee, our business having been founded in 1878, fifty years ago, during which time we have built up a reputation of which we are justly proud, and to express our appreciation of your patronage which has been most helpful, and hope that by maintaining the high standard of quality and finish on which our reputation has been built, to merit a continuance of your patronage. WOOD Patterns marked "Mahogany" or "Walnut" are of solid Mahogany or Walnut throughout. Where veneers are used for decorative effect, that fact is noted. FINISH For finishing, only the highest grade lacquer obtainable is used. ORDERING When ordering, please give pattern number, wood if pattern is made of Mahogany and Walnut, and lining if piece is made both nickelined and porcelined.
