Nothing seems impossible of achievement in this age of science and progress. The bridging of the East River some years ago was considered the acme of engineering triumph, but now there is a project to far outdo even that amazing feat. It is intended to build a colossal bridge from Hoboken to Fourteenth street, New York, with the longest span of any bridge in the world, and with sufficient width to accommodate six railroad trains. Congress will be asked to sanction the building of the structure, which will be higher than the Brooklyn Bridge and much more ornamental. Here are the dimensions of the two bridges: Brooklyn Bridge.
