View is northeast along Hudson Street towards Fifth Street (Stevens Institute of Technology Main building is in the background on Fifth Street.) Statue erected in Hudson Square Park (now Stevens Park.) Dedicated May 30, 1888. Cannons from the U.S.S. Portsmouth (II) were added in 1905 ceremony.
View is east from Willow Avenue of the bronze statue on stone base with iron fence surround. Statue was dedicated May 30, 1891.
A good view of active city life with many people seen in the park including women with baby carriages, children of various ages (boys in foreground) and men.
