Notes: The imprinted back shows the card was intended for use in the 1920s by the "192__" line. The postage of two cents was for postcards prior to 1919 when they reverted to 1 cents. The United States Post Office overprinted old stock with the 1 cent postage (referred to a "surcharge" or "revalued" card) and sold them for use. Thusly, the card was likley printed prior to 1920. While the card could have been used as late as 1925 when the postage did go to 2 cents, it is likely that this would have been used earlier in the decade. After World War I, there was no civilian passenger service from the Hoboken piers until 1921. The purpose of this Meyers card appears to provide a service to steamship and ocean liner companies for their passengers. Status: OK Status By: dw Status Date: 2013-06-21
