Magazine advertisement: " Bijur System " Bijur Motor Appliance Company, Fifteenth and Garden Streets, Hoboken, N.J., April 17, 1919. Full page black and white ad in Motor Age, April 17, 1919, page 111, 8-1/8" x 11-3/8" high. Known earlier as Bijur Motor Lighting Co. They originally manufactured starters and generators for automobiles, but this ad promotes products for several modes of gasoline powered transporation. Apparently the company had a ten story factory in Hoboken - see notes for transcribed text. Illustration by L. Mabie shows one of their starters or generators near the center surrounded by depcitons of a dirigible, seaplane (or airplane), motor boat, truck and car.

It has been used as standard equipment on quality cars since 1912. The more recent adoption of the Bijur System for the heavy duty service in starting Liberty Engines for aeronautics is an indication of the substantial and liberal features of the Bijur design.
