SEASON'S FIRST TULIP BULBS FROM HOLLAND
NEW YORK: Myra Halseth, of Hoboken, N.J., wearing wooden shoes for the occasion, admires the first case of Dutch tulip bulbs of the 1947 season to arrive in the U.S. Myra was delegated by the American Wholesale Bulb Dealers Association to receive the bulbs which arrived on the SS Westerdam.

The S.S. Amsterdam was a ship of the Holland America Line whose American home port was Hoboken at that time.
