OVERSEER OF POOR SLAIN BY RELIEF CLIENT
When Harry L. Barck, 74, overseer of the poor in Hoboken, N.J., was stabbed to death in his office Feb. 25, Joseph Scutellaro, 35, jobless carpenter and father of two children, was held for the crime. Barck was fatally injured in a dispute over an $8 relief check. He died a few minutes after a desk spindle penetrated his right lung. Barck had been under fire, relief clients accusing him of treating him poorly. PHOTO SHOWS: Harry L. Barck, the slain man.
