Busch Rathenow three objective compound microscope from science classroom of Stevens - Hoboken Academy, Hoboken, in use circa 1930-1975. Date of manufacture (place: Germany) and model not found; serial number 22476. Engraved below serial number: PAL Company, N.Y. Probable date of manufacture, 1920-1930. Black metal, lacquered brass and glass. 12" high (with eyepiece and focusing tube in down position) x 6-2/4" deep x 4-1/2" wide. Integral hand hold for transporting it.
A student microscope originally from the New Jersey Agricultural College Plant Pathology Department (as engraved on the eyepiece and one of the objectives. Presumably sold or donated to the private school.)
