Railroad tickets, twelve: Conrail Monthly Commutation Ticket, between Hoboken and Ridgewood, January to December, 1978. Form MCH.
Printed cardstock, 2" high x 3-3/8" wide, with a printed color coded month/year label (1-1/8" wide x 2" high) applied to the left edge (as seen by transmitted light the area under the label is blank.
Each month has a different color, but unlike earlier tickets (Form MC) the ticket body does not have the color coded bars, but is in a new format (Form MCH) with only horizontal blue bars on all. The label has a different serial number from that on the ticket body. See archives 2013.001.0080 for 1977 tickets that had the color coding printed on the ticket at the left and in horizontal bars.
Punches and validation stamps (uniformly used on front over the month/year label; the EL RY stamp still in use) as typical; reverse of all have name of ticket holder.
Railroad tickets for suburban train service that was formerly operated by the Erie Lackawanna Railway. Conrail operated the lines after the EL bankruptcy in 1976.
