Railroad tickets, 12: Erie Lackawanna Railway Co., Monthly Commutation Ticket, 10 between Hoboken and Ridgewood, two between Suffern and Hoboken January to December, 1976. Form MC except for July & August.
Printed cream cardstock in black ink and ink color of color code for month, 2" high x 3-3/16 to 3-1/4" wide except July & August, 3-5/8" wide. Single punch on several for gender of user. Purchase validation stamp on back of those without machine printed stamp (using stamp: E.L. RY.) Serial numbers varied (and format varies.)
The Suffern ticket have a machine printed ticket applied to the base ticket and a validation stamp for the month on the front in a style that is different and bolder than the usual square purchase validation stamps.
Note: the railroad declared bankruptcy in April, 1976 and its operations were taken over by Conrail (Consolidated Rail Corporation.)
