Photograph
Black-and-white photo of the industrial northwest corner of Hoboken looking northeast, no date (ca. 1968-1972). Photo was probably taken by William Tremper. 8-1/4" wide x 12-3/8" high image on 11" x 14" paper. Reverse has holographic pencil notation: see image. Central to the image is the Poggi Press, at the northeast corner of 15th and Adams Sts. The Lumber Barn is at 452 15th St. and is actually called the Weehaken Lumber Co. per a period phone directory. The remnants of a sign above "Lumber Barn" says "Hoboken Lumber," but there was not a company then operating under that name. The bus yards are Continental Trailways listed as 1500 Clinton St.. At the left top is the 'Doric' apartment building in Weehawken.
The provenance of this image is not settled, but it is believed to have been produced for a Hoboken governmental publication that was cancelled.
