Lettering from sign: Marie's Bakery, L. Policastro Bread Est. 1889. Formerly located on the exterior of business at 263-265 Second St. Hoboken.
Thirty-eight letters:
13 large single letters (including apostrophe), stainless steel block lettering spelling "Marie's Bakery" 14-1/8" high, 2-1/2" wide;
25 small block letters (Gemini brand), cast white metal lettering with brushed natural finish on face spelling "L. Policastro Bread Est.1889" 5-1/8" high.
One piece of molding from right end of original sign; formed aluminum, 30-1/2" long with mitered corners; ca. 15 degree angled smooth face, 1-9/16" wide with 5/16" lip; side is 2-5/16" wide with ribbed back edge and divided by two raised ribs into three sections.

Bakery remains in business, but does not bake at this location. To be replaced with a new building. The business has been listed at the address of 261 Second Street which is a building to the east of the one seen which is 263-265 Second St.
Formerly mounted on plywood circa 16 feet wide x 30-1/2" high; plywood covered with green plastic laminate. Plywood and laminate rotted and not retained. Sample of laminate retained for color reference.
L. Policastro was Leopoldo Policastro who founded the bakery under this name in 1948. Named after his wife Severina who was commonly called Marie.
