Digital image of color photo of the partially restored western facade of the Hoboken Terminal, Hoboken, Aug., 1998. Original print 4" x 6". Photograph taken by Leon Yost.
The view is looking south. The section at the left is what was commonly called the Hoboken Ferry Terminal and last used for large ferries in 1967. (There are small ferries operating at this time from docks beyond the south end of the train terminal.) The entrance to the main waiting room is at the right.
The Hoboken Terminal was known as the Lackwanna or Erie-Lackawanna Terminal. The interior of the waiting room has only been recently restored by New Jersey Transit, the current owner and operator of the train terminal.
