Digital image of color photo of an aerial view of the passenger train shed at the Hoboken Terminal, Hoboken, Sept., 2002. Original print 4" x 6". Photograph taken by Leon Yost.
The view is looking southeast with New York City in the background. At the headend of the passenger shed is the waiting room. On the Hudson River at the upper right is a New York Waterway ferry seen leaving the temporary ferry docks south of the train terminal. Also seen at the right edge is the walkway under construction to the Hoboken station of the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail system that opened a month later in October 2002. The street north of the train yard is Observer Highway.
The Hoboken Terminal was known as the Lackwanna or Erie-Lackawanna Terminal. New Jersey Transit is the current owner and operator of the train terminal.
