Stool from Kusseluk Shoe Store, Hoboken. No date, circa late 1920's to 1940. Twisted metal wire frame with wood seat and slanted foot rest; rubber tread pad on foot rest. Seat, 12" diameter x 15" high; overall length with foot rest, 25". Unpainted.
Used by sales person for fitting a seated customer to shoes. The style of wire framing is similar to what is typical of a traditional "ice cream parlor" chair.
This shoe store was located at 109 Tenth Street from circa 1950 onward. It had operated at an earlier unknown location in Hoboken for about 20 years.
