Magazine ad: Make this seeing test - if you, too, want maximum returns from your lighting. Cooper Hewitt Electric Company, 125 River Street, Hoboken, N.J. 1925. Half-page (two vertical columns, 5" wide) black-and-white advertisement in magazine, The Saturday Evening Post, October 24, 1925, page 181. Full leaf as removed from publication, 10" x 13-3/8" high. The ad used an installation of their product, Work-Light, at the Stetson Show Co. plant in South Weymouth, Mass. (two photos with captions), to promote its value. It was an early type of fluorescent lighting, but it is not described as that in the ad. Full text is in notes. The address of 125 River Street is not the usual Hoboken location associated with Cooper Hewitt (company name is known with and without use of a hyphen). It may have been a sales office or showroom that was convenient customers to the Lackawanna Railroad Terminal (or its ferries) and the Hudson & Manhattan Railroad. Manufacturing plant was at 720 and 722-732 Grand Street, Hoboken (Eighth and Grand Streets). This factory became known near the end of the 20th century (after the company was long gone) as the notorious "Mercury Building", a superfund clean-up site. The product or line called Work-Light does not carry a trademark notice in this ad.
