Notes: Text of 2013 press release. ==== New Memoir Details 'Knight's' Accomplishments on Hoboken Council Written by James A. Gabriele, 'A Modern Day Knight' is an inspiring account of a life well lived, and the importance of perseverance in the face of adversity. Gabriele's time as a member of the Hoboken Council 159, the third oldest Council in the State of New Jersey, offered many challenges, but Gabriele's persistence turned them into opportunities for his city and its residents. For Immediate Release Hoboken, NJ - It isn't many people who can say they have been involved in a project that received monetary support from a legend like Frank Sinatra. To James A. Gabriele's credit, he is humble about his accomplishments, and with the release of his new autobiography, 'A Modern Day Knight' his aim is to share his story so that others can benefit from his hard-fought wisdom. "It's no secret that I've had a very busy life and been very involved with my community," says Gabriele, who, while serving with the Council, dreamed up the idea to have two buildings constructed that would change the face of the city for Senior Citizens and Persons with Disabilities. Gabriele is particularly proud of this success, which took years of hard work and dedication. "The building of Columbian Towers and Columbian Arms was a struggle, but I didn't give up, and I think that's an excellent example for young people today." Gabriele's commitment to this project forms the backbone of his autobiography, along with his six years serving as the K.C. Columbian Club President. Gabriele oversaw the move to a permanent new headquarters for the Club, and the construction of a new chapel with the help of donations, including one from a very famous individual. "Frank Sinatra donated 1,000 dollars to the building of the chapel, which was just wonderful," says Gabriele. "It was powerful to see our efforts going toward the betterment of our community." Also the most honored Knight in the Hoboken Knights of Columbus' history, Gabriele received a resolution from the State of New Jersey in 1994 for his service to the Senior Citizens of Hoboken, an award he still cherishes to this day. Many people reading about Gabriele's accomplishments would feel exhausted at the thought of all he has achieved, but Gabriele wouldn't change a thing about his life or his work. "I was an executive with Maxwell House Coffee for 25 years, I am a member of the American Legion and a Founding Sponsor of the National Museum of the United States Army," says Gabriele. "It's an honor to serve and to share my story. I hope that it inspires readers to get more involved with the improvement of their cities, and challenge themselves to do great things. It's all we can do as human beings." 'A Modern Day Knight' is available now. Sku# : 4u-v42z-6lod @ $9.99. About the Author: Please paste a short biography here. Contact: James A.
