DescriptionArt Nouveau style plate or medallion "Modesty" with nude cast by C. Buchholtz Company, Hoboken, N.J., 1923. Cast bronze in high relief with antique patina, circa 4-1/8" diameter x 3/8" high. Titled in block letters beneath scene: Modesty. Incised lettering on bottom: Compliments of C. Buchholtz Co. Hoboken, N.J. 1923. A seated nude woman seen from the back in a pastoral setting. The item may have also been considered as an ashtray or paperweight. Company was located at 73 Adams St.
