Booklet, 4-1/2" wide x 6-1/2" high, 64 pp. plus color lithographed cover. Cover title: Davis Cook Book. The Pure Food Kind. While in generally poor condition, it is held as one in the series issued by the manufacturer over a number of years. Helping to establish a probable date range for this issue of the cookbook is a reproduction on page [21] of an order for 5688 cans of Baking Powder, #1 cans, for the U.S. Army placed by the Quartermaster Corps on July 29, 1914. The company's factory offices and factory were in Hoboken at this time. The factory is depicted on page [64] in an artist's bird's-eye view of the company's factory at Ferry, Jackson and Harrison Streets in Hoboken. Note one automobile depicted, but the delivery wagons are horse drawn. A smalled labeled tin of Davis' OK Baking Powder is on the front cover as part of an artist's composition of a cakestand and other baked goods; also larger depiction of just a can on the back cover. The cover artwork and design is in the Arts & Crafts style suggesting the date range for this issue of this publication.
