For use in the Leroy lettering system. Typically used by mapmakers, geologists, etc. Sometimes referred to as a mining symbol template. Corresponds to 3240G-120 found in 42nd edition catalog. Printed label with copyright date is also marked with a price in ballpoint ink, $13.40, which would be correct for a mid-1960s price (it would be circa $79 in 2009 dollars.) Keuffel & Esser Co. main office and factories were in Hoboken in the period when this item was made.
