DescriptionBell stamped "Merry Christmas and Happy New Year"; "Tramm's Shoes, 828 Washington St., Hoboken, N.J." No date, circa 1920s. Stamped bronze finished metal, rectangular, 1-7/8" wide x 1-3/8" deepx 3-1/4" high; clapper. Stamped lettering on both sides of wide face. Stamped "Pat Pend" on handle. This advertising novelty could be considered as a Christmas tree ornament or a New Year's Eve noisemaker. The shoe store was at 828 Washington as of 1925; the object is possibly earlier than 1920. From the former Kostelecky family residence and business at 218 Bloomfield St., Hoboken.
