The reverse has a holographic ink inscription by George Kirchgessner, who is probably the photographer, describing the scene. Also the ink stamp of United Decorating Company. The view is looking southwest. Per Kirchgessner, the event was sponsored by the Hoboken Recreation Department with a May Day theme. Although dated on the reverse as 1936 by donor, the film on the Fabian Theatre marquee, "In Old Chicago", was released in 1938. Archive record, 2007.040.1140, dates this image as 1938 by that film and the upcoming boxing film on the side marquee.
