Scale: 1" - 100' Blueprint, 8-1/8" high x ca. 13-3/4" wide; two holes punched at left edge; reverse blank. Fair to poor condition. With: two blueprint leaves of typed text, 8" x 13" high; same two holes punched at top of short end. Very good condition. Map covers a small area from Newark Avenue on the north (no compass point appears on the drawing; top of sheet is northerly); Henderson Street on the east; Grove Street and the land west of it short of Jersey Avenue on the west. It shows two parcels of land on the Hoboken-Jersey City border (division line appears on map.) What was the original map and the revisions that were made are not labeled or described. The two pages of text are titled: "Morris & Essex Railroad. Description of land to be leased to The D.L.& W. Coal Co. at Hoboken, N.J." It describes the survey of both parcels in the drawing. No date; while the text is probably from the 1909 era, the prints themselves are likely from 1930 or some later date as the difference in condition of the map compared to these leaves would suggest that they were produced later than earlier. Some buildings on Henderson are labeled with names: Schwarzchild and Sulzberger Beef Co.; Fred C. Havert, Meat; M. Weisbard, 3 story frame; S. Miele. Elsewhere is a terra cotta company. Note: Parcel One, between Henderson and Grove Streets, shows the coal pockets which were below the train trestles. This trestle was only demolished circa 2004-2005. The same plot had a horse stable and a coal office which was near the Henderson and Newark Ave. which is also where Ferry St., later Observer Highway, met them. Trolley tracks are indicated on Newark Ave. and Grove St.
