Numbered and dated in image: C1084-5, 12/17/27. The view is looking southeast from southwest corner of Washington and Newark Sts. A steam shovel is working at the center. The rear of buildings on Hudson Street can be seen with white building at the upper right being the Terminal Building. This 'alley' is Court Street.
The north face of the Hotel Victor at the northeast corner of Hudson Place (Ferry St.) and Hudson Street can be seen: there is a painted sign for the Lyric Theatre.
