Rule measure marked in black on both sides in inches and sixteenths. K&E round logo and griffin trademark plus model number. Used by foresters, forestry staff or loggers for field measurement of tree diameters (logs or timber.) Tree calipers did not appear in the 40th edition catalog of 1944; tree tapes are listed. It is listed in the 41st (1949) and 42nd (1954); it is re-numbered in the 43rd edition (1962). The use of the round logo and griffin trademark suggests the early part of this date range, but those marks are not definitive.
