Frosted glass ashtray from Nieuw Amsterdam, Holland America Line, 1938.
Molded etched glass, 6-1/2" diameter x 2-1/4" high. Stylized logo of Holland America on bottom.
Attributed to Lalique by donor, but not so marked in any way. May be considered as Lalique-style Art Deco.
Prior owner: Adriaan P.L. Roggeveen (1890-1957), Director of Operations, Holland America Line, Hoboken, until retirement in 1953.

The American home port for this ocean liner was Hoboken.
